1.2 What We Don't Do

We do NOT:

  • Manage your investments or assets

  • Execute trades on your behalf
  • Provide legal or tax preparation services
  • Guarantee specific investment returns or outcomes

2. Client Relationship

2.1 Collaboration Agreement

Our formal client relationship begins when you sign a collaboration agreement and pay the required fees. The agreement will specify:

  • Scope of services
  • Fee structure and payment terms
  • Duration of the collaboration
  • Responsibilities of both parties

2.2 Acting in Your Best Interest

As a fee-only, advice-only firm, we are paid directly by our clients and our advice is guided by your best interest. We have no conflicts of interest arising from product sales or commissions.

2.3 Professional Standards

Our principal planner, Jim Pan, CFP®, adheres to the standards of professional responsibility and code of ethics of FP Canada (Financial Planning Canada), and of any other professional body that applies to our planners.

3. Fees and Payment

3.1 Fee Structure

We charge fees based on the complexity of your financial situation and the services provided:

  • Clarity Session: A one-time flat fee for a single focused session
  • 12-month planning programs: A one-time onboarding fee plus a flat monthly fee

Current fee schedules are available on our Services & Pricing page and will be confirmed in your collaboration agreement.

3.2 Payment Terms

  • Onboarding and Clarity Session fees are due before work begins
  • Monthly fees are billed in advance
  • Payment is due within 15 days of invoice date

3.3 Refund Policy

Onboarding and Clarity Session fees are non-refundable once work has begun. For our 12-month planning programs:

  • You are committed to the 12-month minimum specified in your collaboration agreement
  • After the 12-month minimum, you may cancel at any time with 30 days' written notice
  • Unused portions of monthly fees are not refundable
  • Early termination before the end of the 12-month minimum will result in the remaining unpaid fees being billed at the time of departure, as stated in our collaboration agreement
